new graffiti: Literature on the Streets

new graffiti: Literature on the Streets was an award winning broadside series that focused on bringing visual and literary works together and putting them in the public’s face. During my time running new graffiti, I had the chance to promote the work of many talented artist and writers. I tried to have each issue bring the two mediums together in a way that created a unique story. So, while the art and writing weren’t mine, I had the privilege of selecting the work for and designing the layout of each poster. During the two year span that new graffiti found its way onto buildings, telephone poles, and bus stop awnings across the state, it was awarded a “Best of Utah” award by Salt Lake City Weekly, and its staff were invited to be a part of the Salt Lake Public Librarie’s “Alternative Press Festival.”
